Six Project Manager positions are currently open at the Victorian Health Building Authority. These are positions with fixed-term contracts, with one open until June 30, 2024, three open until September 30, 2025, and two open until December 31, 2025.

The motivation behind these jobs is to design and oversee capital undertakings which incorporate overseeing client connections, advisor and worker for hire obtainment, project financial plan and conveyance, project income and guaging, checking and execution revealing. Capital health project clients, such as hospitals and health services, consultants and contractors, and the health community as a whole are the main stakeholders.

The department is committed to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for its employees and customers. Employees are required to be current on their COVID-19 vaccinations as a condition of employment because it is an essential component of any role within the department to be able to attend work onsite safely. Unless they have a medical condition that prevents them from receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, this requirement applies. Therefore, prior to making any offer of employment, the department will require any potential employee who has been identified as the preferred candidate for a position within the department to provide evidence of their COVID-19 vaccination status. Job Responsibilities

  1. Contribute to the full life cycle of projects to meet departmental objectives including, undertaking research, analysis and implementation of projects based on defined outcomes and outputs, managing projects or sub-projects and being accountable for the successful delivery and completion of the projects/sub-projects within resourcing, timeline and budget parameters and monitoring and evaluating projects to ensure departmental objectives are met.
  2. Provide authoritative advice to internal and external stakeholders and prepare and present detailed reports, ministerial briefs, cabinet and agency submissions on complex matters.
  3. Monitor and report on project progress and expenditure, project cashflow and forecasting and report to key stakeholders and project management offices on overall program and budget performance

Job Requirements

  1. Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate a partnership approach.
  2. Where responsible for overseeing, monitoring or delivering projects, ensure they are delivered in accordance with relevant legislation and government regulations and guidelines. 
  3. Manage the delivery of capital projects to meet Government project objectives, budget and community expectations
  4. Develop and provide reports to the Project Control Group, assisting in the decision-making processes for the assigned capital projects.
  5. Identify and provide timely authoritative quality advice on issues affecting projects and facilitate decisions leading to proactive project implementation.
  6. Actively identify emerging pressures and possible issues and initiate risk management strategies to address them.
